👩‍🍳What’s cooking in the newsroom?

Midjourney now lets users with >100 image generations use the web interface

🖌️News - Midjourney has spent the past few months developing a new web app for generating AI images, and it has now made it more widely accessible.

Previously, you needed a Discord account to use the Midjourney AI generator bot. However, now, anyone who has created at least 100 images using the Discord-based bot can access the new web-based tool. To check your image creation count, use the /info command on the MidJourney Bot.

💻How does the web interface work? To use the AI image generator on the Midjourney website, you'll need to sign in with your Discord account. Once logged in, you'll find a variety of impressive images created by other users, along with a large text box where you can generate your own images. To begin, just type a prompt into the box, press enter, and wait for your images to be generated.

👍🏻Pros -

  • The main advantage of the web UI is simplified customization. You no longer need to remember numerous parameters and how to use them correctly; instead, you can easily select options from a drop-down menu.

  • Additionally, the new web platform includes early public rooms for discussing various aspects of AI image generation. Private and custom room creation features are planned to be introduced in the upcoming weeks.

👎🏻Cons -

  • In several places, Midjourney emphasizes that the website is currently in the "alpha" testing phase, indicating that it is not yet ready for widespread use and may contain bugs.

  • Furthermore, the full range of parameters hasn't been transferred to the Midjourney web interface yet—due to its alpha build status—however, this will change over time.

Anthropic to launch a Claude mobile app, roll out new Team plan

📲News -  Anthropic, the creator of the Claude family of AI models, is launching an iOS app and introducing a new paid tier for groups to share access to the models.

Previously, Claude was only accessible through Anthropic's Claude website and third-party model libraries such as Amazon Bedrock, Hugging Face, or Microsoft Azure. Now, the new mobile app will act as a chatbot and allows users to upload photos directly for image analysis.

The Claude app will be free for all users of Claude AI models, including free users, subscribers to Claude Pro, and those on the new Claude Team plan. The company also plans to release an Android version of the app soon.

🐣What's more? Anthropic is also launching the Team plan this month, offering access to Claude models for groups of at least five people at $30 per seat per month. With this plan, group members can share their Claude projects with each other. In contrast, the Pro plan, priced at $20 per month, is available only for individuals and does not include this feature.

In addition to everything included in the Pro plan, subscribers to the Team plan will have access to more chat queries on Claude models compared to Pro users. For context, Pro users already have five times more chat queries than those using the model for free.

Furthermore, the Team plan offers a larger context window, enabling users to ask the Claude chatbot to analyze long documents and engage in complex, back-and-forth conversations.

Nvidia's ChatRTX now supports more AI models and voice queries

🤖News - Nvidia is updating its experimental ChatRTX chatbot for RTX GPU owners. The chatbot, which runs locally on Windows PCs, is adding more AI models to its roster.

In addition to Mistral and Llama 2, users can now use Google's Gemma, ChatGLM3 (a bilingual English and Chinese model), and OpenAI's CLIP model—which makes searching for photos easier.

Furthermore, Nvidia is adding support for voice queries by integrating Whisper, an AI speech recognition system. This allows you to search your data using your voice.

🤷🏻‍♂️Why use these Nvidia's ChatRTX? Nvidia's app simplifies the process of running these models locally, and the resulting chatbot interface allows you to choose between models, making it easier to find the one that best fits your data analysis or search needs.

🧏🏻‍♂️Here's how you can get the app - To get Nvidia's ChatRTX app, you'll need an RTX 30- or 40-series GPU with 8GB of VRAM or more. The app is available as a 36GB download from Nvidia's website.

Once installed, it creates a local chatbot server accessible from a browser. You can then feed your local documents and even YouTube videos into the app to use as a search tool, complete with summaries and answers to questions based on your own data.
